Responsibilities
- Perform Quality Control Inspections and Testing of field installed instrumentation devices, fabricated Instrument and Control Panels, adhering to NEC, UL 508A & 698A standards and site-specific drawings and specifications.
- Understand electrical wiring, fabrication, and testing of control panels within a UL 508A & 698A panel environment.
- Understand instrument and control systems including PLCs and instrument loops (4-20mA).
- Knowledge of transmitters, flow meters, pressure probes, temperature probes, level probes, timers, and relays.
- Understand PLC logic and software platforms for I/O testing such as Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Siemens, and Motorola.
- Write and implement corrective actions based on findings from quality inspections and insights.
- Analyze quality findings and suggest corrective measures to prevent recurrence of substandard performance.
- Communicate facilitatively with team members to enhance their performance based on quality inspection insights.
- Develop and deliver training materials based on insights from quality findings.
- Visually verify Bill of Materials for panels and instrumentation devices, test electronically, and trace wire origins and designations for accuracy.
- Power up and test 120 VAC, 24VDC, and 480V voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with OSHA and NEC electrical safety practices.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits as needed.
- Work overtime or weekends as required by production and site construction schedules.
- Manipulate conduit and fittings to install wires safely.
- Interpret Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) and tubing drawings for accurate installations.
- Use customer software packages like ProCore, CxAlloy, BIM360 Field, and basic email and MS Office products.
- Adhere strictly to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to ensure employee and public safety.
Requirements
- The Basic Associate degree (AA) in Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college, technical school, or five years of relevant experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred
- Six or more years of relevant experience.
- EE98J preferred.
