About the role

This is a field-based role focused on ensuring the safe, reliable startup and commissioning of electrical systems, with an emphasis on medium voltage distribution, switchgear, and protection systems. The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will play a key role in late-stage project execution, working closely with project managers, field engineers, and client stakeholders to validate system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support successful system energization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe, reliable startup and commissioning of electrical systems, including medium voltage distribution, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • Work closely with project managers, field engineers, and client stakeholders to validate system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support successful system energization.
  • Play a key role in late-stage project execution.
  • Validate system performance and troubleshoot issues related to electrical commissioning and startup procedures.
  • Support successful system energization by collaborating with project managers, field engineers, and client stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on expertise in field electrical systems, relay programming, and startup procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong practical, field-based experience in electrical commissioning, startup, and completions within industrial, utility, or data center environments.
  • No formal engineering degree required, but strong practical experience is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experience in medium voltage distribution, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical commissioning, startup, and completions.
  • Experience in industrial, utility, or data center environments.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical commissioning and startup procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with project managers, field engineers, and client stakeholders.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this role is typically 40 hours per week, with occasional travel to project sites throughout the Austin, Texas region.
