About the role
This role is for an Electrical PV Construction Supervisor at Scatec, a global renewable energy company. The supervisor will oversee all PV electrical and communication activities on-site, manage subcontractor teams, coordinate Mechanical Completion and Commissioning activities, and ensure adherence to quality, time, cost, and HSSE standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all PV electrical and communication (SCADA) activities on site, monitoring progress and reporting deviations related to quality, schedule, cost, and HSSE.
- Oversee the installation of cables, inverters, MV transformers, communication systems, lighting, CCTV, earthing systems, connection boxes, and commissioning activities.
- Support HV electrical works when required.
- Cookordination Mechanical Completion and Commissioning activities, ensuring effective collaboration between different disciplines, contractors, and key equipment suppliers to achieve safe and timely project delivery.
- Review and approve construction documentation submitted by contractors, including Method Statements and work procedures, coordinating with Engineering and Quality teams to validate technical requirements, material specifications, and component datasheets.
- Lead Pre-Construction Meetings with subcontractors for electrical, communication, and commissioning activities, ensuring all technical, quality, safety, and execution requirements are aligned before work begins.
- Monitor contractors’ daily progress and performance, working closely with the Planning team to evaluate completion forecasts, identify risks, implement recovery measures when necessary, and support quantity surveillance and milestone verification.
- Manage technical queries and construction interfaces with suppliers, the Lead Engineer, and the Electrical Engineer, ensuring all works are executed according to the latest approved drawings, specifications, manuals, and red-marked documentation.
- Coordinate quality and inspection activities with SSO and Quality Inspectors, supporting audits, witness and hold points, NCR management, corrective action follow-up, and compliance with project quality requirements.
- Support technical assessments and project close-out activities, including investigations, due diligence reviews, final inspections, punch list completion, and the preparation and handover of as-built drawings and final project documentation.
Requirements
- Experience and qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related technical qualification. Minimum 5 years of experience in EPC environments and medium to large-scale construction projects.
- Knowledge: Solid knowledge of mechanical construction practices, industry standards, and site execution activities. Understanding of Quality Control Systems and problem-solving methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Analysis, and Ishikawa.
- Experience: Experience in solar PV and/or High Voltage projects is highly desirable.
- Personal attributes: Valid driver's license, strong MS Office skills, and fluency in the local language and English.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related technical qualification.
