Responsibilities

  • Responsible for client relations, project development, resource management and supervision of construction activities
  • Safety, Quality, Schedule, Budget and Change Management
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors
  • Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project(s)

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in heavy civil construction projects related to Water/Wastewater project experience, Mass Transit, power generation
  • Experience with engineering calculations & studies
  • Understanding of electrical power system equipment/components such as Switchgears, transformers, panelboards, generators, UPS, etc.
  • Ability to understand P&ID’s, Control Schematics, Electrical single-line drawings, and system (I&C, Fire Alarm, HVAC Control, Security) drawings
  • Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces
  • Experience in construction and technical inspection of electrical design in areas such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, grounding, and cable pulling activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program
  • Must be computer-literate in word processing, CAD, spreadsheets, and database applications
  • Must be familiar with current industry quality standards
  • Detailed knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E Codes
  • Understanding electrical single line diagrams, electrical block diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, electrical panel schedules, raceway/cable tray plan drawings, and electrical support drawings
  • Previous experience in Quality Control a plus
  • Experience using Accubid is helpful doing takeoffs, estimating for new projects and helping with bid process
