Electrical Project Manager
Summary of Primary Functions
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing electrical engineering projects from estimation through execution, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role supports industrial installations, automated warehouses, and production lines, and collaborates with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead planning, estimation, and implementation of electrical systems for industrial and commercial projects.
- Manage job sites and coordinate internal labor, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with NEC standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Track project costs, manage budgets, and support financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, change orders, and punch lists.
- Facilitate effective communication between clients, engineers, and technicians.
- Conduct site-specific training and onboarding for project teams.
- Maintain project performance and report risks, variations, and opportunities to leadership.
- Support procurement and material selection for electrical components.
- Ensure timely delivery of vendor-supplied goods and services.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
- OSHA 30 and NFPA70E preferred.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years in industrial electrical service.
- 5+ years in electrical project management.
- Experience with high-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, and production equipment installations.
- Strong commercial and mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electrical estimating software (McCormick, Accubid).
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Financial acumen in budgeting, cost control, and final accounts.
- Familiarity with H&S legislation and risk management.
Solution
A combination of office/remote and traveling on site. Travel Required: Must be willing and able to work at our corporate office, when required, in Spartanburg, SC.
