Electrical Project Manager
About the role
B&I Contractors, Inc., a five-time winner of the Great Place to Work award and Florida’s fastest-growing MEP contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team. We specialize in commercial and industrial projects, including schools, hospitals, and government buildings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, specifications, and budget, including interfacing with client representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Conduct pre-construction and post-construction activities.
- Complete job cost breakdowns and schedule of values.
- Review and approve all projects.
- Schedule and coordinate the completion of submittal data, operation and maintenance manuals, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Supervise trade employees and/or subcontractors as required.
- Provide technical assistance, including engineering, interpretation of drawings, and recommendations for construction methods and equipment.
- Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
- Conduct on-site visits and inspections to assess productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance.
- Act as a liaison between trades and other departments.
- Provide field employees with necessary support to complete the project.
- Distribute, follow up, and respond in writing to all punch list items in a timely manner.
- Provide project status reports during weekly staff meetings.
- Attend weekly project management meetings and report on project status.
- Monitor project costs and forecast future project costs.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years of construction management, estimating, and/or trade supervision experience in a similar construction setting.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety.
- Excellent communication, organization, and supervisory skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment.
- Manual material handling must comply with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
