Electrical Project Inspector

About the role

The Electrical Project Inspector position at Cumming Group represents Port of Portland projects, providing quality control and inspection expertise in electrical systems. This role ensures compliance with contract documents and serves as a liaison between various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Inspects materials, installation, and layout of work on the project site and evaluates its acceptability.
• Determines and notifies contractor of unacceptable material or work with CCM approval.
• Serves as liaison between CCM, operations, Owner, and contractor during construction.
• Performs or supervises quality control testing.
• Maintains thorough and accurate records documenting the entire project process.
• Verifies quantities for contractors monthly pay estimate.
• Attends work during normal business hours.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering, architecture, Surveying, or related field preferred.
• Experience: 5 years' experience in electrical engineering, 2+ years’ experience with all ICC codes, specifically electrical; 2+ years’ experience with all state specific ICC codes.
• Preferred Certification: Certified Electrical Inspector Certification (CEI), Appropriate state issued Electrical Inspector’s Certification or equivalent license.
• Experience in the public construction industry.
