Axia Electric, established in the early 1990s and rebranded in 2025, specializes in electrical, instrumentation, and process controls for water and wastewater treatment; dams and locks; mass transit and rail; alternative energy; power generation and transmission; and commercial building projects. Our self-performance capability adds value by improving cost and schedule control for projects with major electrical and process mechanical scopes.

Headquartered in Riverside, California, Axia Electric focuses on large public owners across water resources, water treatment, transportation, and transit markets in several states. Recent major projects include the $350 million North City Pure Water Facility in San Diego and the $235 million EVMWD Regional Water Reclamation Facility Expansion Project in Lake Elsinore, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Operational management of large-scale projects and multiple small-scope projects.
  • Strategic capture and win planning for future work in the region.
  • Support strategic planning for key pursuits in target sectors, including client analysis, competitive positioning, and teaming recommendations.
  • Develop capture plans, pursuit calendars, and SWOT analyses.
  • Facilitate go/no-go discussions and strategy sessions with executive sponsors and business development teams.
  • Ensure all messaging reflects the client’s values, pain points, and success criteria.
  • Help grow the San Diego Electrical market.
  • Coordinate input and feedback from subject matter experts, joint venture partners, estimators, and executives.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients during prepositioning, procurement, and debrief stages.
  • Analyze RFQs, RFPs, and contract documents to identify key risks, requirements, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with legal, estimating, and risk management teams to ensure proposal responses reflect contract compliance and risk mitigation strategy.
  • Track industry trends in progressive contracting (e.g., CMGC, P3, DBFOM) and communicate implications to the team.
  • Sponsor Project PMs to ensure profitable work.
  • Develop and mentor project staff on contract administration, cost controls, scheduling basics, contract negotiations, and field management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management, or other relevant discipline—or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 15 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills, with experience tailoring technical content for client needs.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and working groups with diverse stakeholders, including engineers, executives, and joint venture partners.
  • Familiarity with CMAR/CMGC, Design-Build, and alternative delivery contracting models.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, SharePoint, and CMiC (Cost Management).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $225,000 - $240,000 per year, depending on experience and/or education.
