Electrical Project Engineer - Process Controls

Description

The Electrical Project Engineer - Process Controls is primarily responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of capital projects safely to meet budget, schedule, and technical objectives at the mill related to control system projects and upgrades involving PLC, DCS, HMI, and VFD's. Project management skills are important to develop and manage a portfolio of capital projects safely to meet budget, schedule, and technical objectives at the mill.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 3-5 years’ work experience in project management required
• Experience in pulp and paper industry preferred
• Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (e.g. Honeywell, Allen Bradley), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s) and Power Distribution Systems; must be able to review and approve PLCs
• Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership ability along with high ethical standards, with uncompromising focus on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements
• Solid ability to organize and plan, working independently with minimal supervision
• Able to forecast spending on projects and manage projects within budget
• Able to maintain a balance of work priorities and complete assignments within established timeframes
• Takes on every assignment with a sense of urgency
• Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
• Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
• Able to interact collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw valid conclusions supported by fact and data
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
