About the role
Join our team at the historic Frick® Plant in Waynesboro, PA, where we design and manufacture world-class refrigeration systems and screw compressors. In this role, you'll lead electrical project engineering activities, making a direct impact by designing packaged equipment control and wiring systems, processing customer orders, developing cost estimates, and establishing engineering standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and specify controls and wiring for compressors and associated rotating equipment.
- Design and specify control panels and motor switchgear, including electromechanical panels, microprocessor panels, PLC, and DCS-based system panels.
- Perform engineering calculations such as power consumption, control transformer sizing, and instrument loop impedances.
- Sketch ladder logic, logical flow, instrumentation diagrams, and rudimentary panel layouts using PC-based drawing programs (AutoCAD preferred).
- Provide guidelines for the design of control panels, junction boxes, and conduit/wiring systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Write inquiries, specifications, and requisitions for purchased equipment.
- Check drawings and write installation, operation, and maintenance instructions.
- Review orders and specifications to identify technical cost options, comments, clarifications, and exceptions.
- Interface daily with internal and external customers.
- Attend meetings at our facility and customer sites, with limited travel required.
- Confer with project engineering and manufacturing personnel.
- Work on multiple projects at various stages simultaneously.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- 0+ years of experience as an engineer.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Construction/electrical experience.
Pay
Hiring salary range: $75,000 - $90,000. Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
