Electrical Project Engineer

About the role
We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for our Seattle, WA office. The candidate will provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects, serving as lead electrical engineer when required. This role supports projects both local to and regional to the office, as well as other areas as requested by the firm.
Responsibilities
- Power systems design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor controls, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout, and related activities at water and wastewater facilities
- Prepare project specifications and edit corporate electrical master specifications as needed to suit each project
- Serve as the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring work is performed in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
- Perform site visits as needed from project conceptual design through construction
- Perform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the project
- Perform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the project
- Complete construction administration tasks including review of shop drawings, replies to requests for information, change order requests, and similar tasks
- Perform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the project
- Monitor and participate in the field testing and start-up of electrical systems
- Represent the electrical discipline in client project meetings
- Interact with clients, contractors, and engineers from other disciplines
- Serve as a technical mentor for less experienced electrical staff
- Assist in business development activities such as proposal preparation
- Develop scope and fee documents for electrical portions of projects
- Fill the role of Project Manager for selected electrical projects
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 5-14 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial electrical engineering and design
- Licensed as a registered professional engineer in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to be licensed in additional states at the request of the firm
- Experience with SKM or ETAP power system software
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software
- Experience in Microsoft Office products
- Strong communication skills for successful interaction with clients, contractors, and other engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Water/Wastewater industry
- Experience with Bluebeam software and Bluebeam Studio
- Experience with instrumentation and control systems including instruments, operator interfaces, and PLCs

Starting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
