About the role

The Project Engineer position will assist and support multiple Project Managers and Superintendents in coordinating and managing electrical construction projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager/Project Managers with the pre-project planning process.
  • Assist with tasks required to develop the maintenance of budgets. This includes reviewing field timesheets, material invoices, and monitoring progress.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of purchase orders, purchase order modifications, subcontracts, subcontract modifications, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Assist in the preparation and management of change orders in Accubid Change Order Pro. (Training in both estimating and the Accubid Change Order Pro estimating system will be provided.)
  • Help update construction documents and distribute them to vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the life cycle of a project.
  • Review and comprehend project plans, specifications, and contract requirements, and update or modify them throughout the course of the project.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Travel required to conduct site visits to assist in monitoring progress and maintaining quality control.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with General Contractors, engineers, designers, and other external project team members.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendents with material procurement and coordination.

Requirements

  • Construction Management degree helpful but not required; related field experience a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in electrical construction preferred.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards a plus.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed (travel within Southern California).

Pay

USD $80,000.00 - USD $105,000.00 per year.
