JOB SUMMARY
You will:
- Support manufacturing-focused electrical product engineering with an emphasis on product transfers, new product introduction (NPI), and production readiness.
- Develop and update electrical schematics, wiring/harness designs, wire-kit documentation, and manufacturing-ready BOMs.
- Drive electrical DFMA improvements, BOM commonization, and design simplification across product lines.
- Partner closely with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to resolve production issues and ensure smooth factory launches.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and change records using electrical CAD and document-control systems.
- Contribute to the reliability, consistency, and manufacturability of industrial electrical products and electromechanical assemblies.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners.
- Contribute to projects that impact communities in Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale, and the greater southern Twin Cities metro.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of manufacturing-focused electrical product engineering experience
- Proficient with electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar
- Strong experience with electrical schematics, wiring/harness design, wire-kit documentation, and BOM commonization
- Skilled in electrical DfMA and design optimization for manufacturability
- Experience supporting product transfers, NPI, factory launches, or production issue resolution
- Background in industrial power equipment, control panels, UL-regulated products, or complex electromechanical assemblies (preferred)
- Strong documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
