About the role

The Electrical Process Technician will play a crucial role in developing innovative technology at ELYSIS, a groundbreaking company aiming to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from the aluminum industry. Located in the Alcoa Technical Center in New Kensington, PA, this position involves hands-on work with advanced materials and manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and executing tasks such as material batching, material handling, and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Preparing and testing samples for chemical composition and physical properties using laboratory analytical equipment.
  • Developing and maintaining safe work instructions and adhering to Alcoa's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) best practices.
  • Operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
  • Coordinating activities related to projects, ensuring documentation, schedule, and metrics are met.
  • Executing designed experiments, recording and analyzing data, and communicating results and observations to the team.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Strong aptitude in a skilled trade (e.g., mechanical, electrical, automotive, HVAC, carpentry, welding, or plumbing).
  • At least 2 years of work experience in an industrial environment with emphasis on material handling.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented and learning environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop, recommend, and implement innovative procedures to solve problems.
  • Strong safety focus according to Alcoa EHS standards, protocols, and tools.
  • Ability to train and work with resources within and outside the program team.
  • Proficient computer skills: MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, JMP, MS Access, or other database.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and analytical skills for data management, analysis, and results presentation.

Qualifications

Pay

Salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The technician will be required to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment. Initially, the schedule will be Monday - Friday daylight shifts, with a 12-hour rotating day and evening shift schedule.
