About the role

The Preconstruction Manager will lead a cross-functional team to support projects from inception to construction and beyond. This role requires strong coordination skills, client interaction, and a deep understanding of preconstruction processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates design activities with consultants, subcontractors, and clients
  • Works with the Group Manager of Preconstruction to develop best-in-class Preconstruction services
  • Monitors project progress and engineering, design, and CAD project budgets
  • Oversees the development of designs, cost estimates, and value engineering solutions
  • Acts as the single point of contact for the Project Manager on all Preconstruction activities
  • Guides project managers during the design phase to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 10 years of electrical contracting experience or MEP coordination

Qualifications

  • Experience working cooperatively and collaboratively with the operations side project manager
  • Key point of contact for all clients during the Preconstruction/ planning phases of a project
  • Transitions control of the project to the project manager during the construction phase

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in design and engineering software
  • Knowledge of construction and engineering standards and regulations

Pay

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications

Schedule

  • Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday
  • May require occasional overtime to meet business needs
