Electrical Plans Examiner I/II

About the role

This position reports to the Building Official and Chief of the Plan Review Services within the Community Planning, Housing and Development (CPHD) Department. The Electrical Plans Examiner I/II will review construction documents to ensure building construction and systems comply with electrical design standards of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC). Projects are complex due to size, multiplicity of structures, advanced design of installed systems, and advanced construction methods and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents for compliance with electrical design standards under the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC).
• Evaluate complex projects involving large-scale structures, multiple buildings, advanced system designs, and innovative construction techniques.
