Overview
Storyteller Overland is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Electrical & Plumbing Assembly Technician to join our production team in Springfield, MO.
Responsibilities
- Build and wire electrical panels and machines according to specifications.
- Assemble and install plumbing systems, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for both electrical and plumbing tasks.
- Use equipment such as pipe cutters, soldering irons, crimping tools, and wire strippers.
- Perform quality checks to ensure proper assembly and functionality of electrical and plumbing systems; partner with the engineering team to pressure test all systems and ensure proper functionality.
- Identify and resolve issues or malfunctions in electrical and plumbing assemblies.
- Use critical thinking skills to diagnose electrical circuitry and plumbing system problems.
- Understand plumbing diagrams to guide assembly and installation processes.
- Run Pex pipe for basic interior plumbing.
- Communicate effectively regarding progress, issues, and suggestions for improvement.
- Aid staff in continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback and solutions to optimize workflow.
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Other general duties as assigned.
Work Location
In Office, 444 W Tampa St, Springfield, MO 65806
Work Schedule
Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm with a 30-min lunch
Compensation
$20/hour, commensurate with experience + Rewards + Bonus
Physical Requirements
- The ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking around the manufacturing floor.
- Precision and coordination are crucial for assembling intricate components and operating machinery.
- Employees must be capable of using hand and power tools with a steady hand.
- Assembly tasks may require reaching, stretching, and bending to access components, equipment, and workstations as well as the ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch is necessary for accessing low-lying work areas and performing assembly tasks close to the ground.
- Employees must have good visual acuity to inspect and ensure the quality of components and products.
- This may involve reading technical documents and operating machinery with precision.
- The role may require the ability to hear and respond to alarms, machinery sounds, and co-worker communication in a manufacturing environment.
- For tasks involving computer work or documentation, employees may be required to sit for extended periods.
- Exposure to Hazardous Materials: In some cases, employees may be exposed to chemicals or substances used in the manufacturing process. Proper safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
Education/Experience/Skills
- AAS Technical/Trade degree or associate degree preferred, and/or relevant experience.
- Automotive experience is a must.
- General knowledge of computers, electrical assembly, basic electronic troubleshooting, mechanical assembly and repair, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and/or audio-visual equipment operation desired.
- Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings, schematics equipment manuals, and technical specifications within the first 90-days.
- Willingness and ability to learn additional technical skills within the automotive and manufacturing industries.
- Able to follow process instructions accurately and consistently.
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, able to take responsibility, and a flexible attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid certification (e.g. ASE) is a definite plus.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Strong knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems and components.
- Basic knowledge of electrical measurements of amps and volts.
