Scope and Responsibilities

  • Install a variety of electrical components and purchased accessories to machine tool products.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical prints, assembly work instructions and vendor documentation.
  • Perform minor electrical tests using a volt-ohm-ampere meter, or other equipment as necessary.
  • Work with the wiring group to establish best wiring practices and document in standard work instructions.
  • Document wiring issues/corrections in accordance with company practices.
  • Detect and report unusual conditions, code violations, or faulty material to proper supervision.
  • Assist in wire room inventory management and assist facility maintenance in replacing fuses, bulbs, cables, wire, etc.
  • Use electrical hand tools including crimpers, wire strippers, heat guns, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Associate's Degree or trade school certificate preferred.
  • 2+ years of electrical assembly experience.

Skills Required

  • Good understanding of electrical and wiring concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Ability to verbally communicate technical concerns related to component wiring.
  • Strong electrical safety understanding.
  • Understanding of various types of electrical power including single phase, three phase, AC, and DC circuits.
