Scope and Responsibilities
- Install a variety of electrical components and purchased accessories to machine tool products.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical prints, assembly work instructions and vendor documentation.
- Perform minor electrical tests using a volt-ohm-ampere meter, or other equipment as necessary.
- Work with the wiring group to establish best wiring practices and document in standard work instructions.
- Document wiring issues/corrections in accordance with company practices.
- Detect and report unusual conditions, code violations, or faulty material to proper supervision.
- Assist in wire room inventory management and assist facility maintenance in replacing fuses, bulbs, cables, wire, etc.
- Use electrical hand tools including crimpers, wire strippers, heat guns, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Associate's Degree or trade school certificate preferred.
- 2+ years of electrical assembly experience.
Skills Required
- Good understanding of electrical and wiring concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Ability to verbally communicate technical concerns related to component wiring.
- Strong electrical safety understanding.
- Understanding of various types of electrical power including single phase, three phase, AC, and DC circuits.
