Electrical Occupations Instructor
Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is seeking a dedicated Electrical Occupations Instructor to inspire and prepare the next generation of skilled technicians. Responsibilities
The Electrical Instructor prepares students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to install, operate, maintain, and repair residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. Instruction includes:
- Circuit diagrams
- Electrical codes
- Blueprint reading
- Wiring installation
- Maintenance of electrical service and distribution systems
Requirements
- Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Electrical and Power Transmission Installers (CIP 46.0399 – Electrical Occupations 2088), or eligibility to obtain certification
- Minimum four (4) years of full-time wage-earning electrical experience beyond training
- Strong technical, communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to deliver engaging lab-based instruction and maintain a safe, industry-standard learning environment
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m. (7¾ hours/day), 10-months (190 days). Includes six evening functions annually and two extended faculty meetings per month.

Starting salary is based on experience and the negotiated professional union salary matrix with annual increases.
