About the role

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. We are looking for an Electrical/Mechanical Repair Technician II for our Monroe, NC MRO/Aftermarket facility. Under moderate supervision, you will use your experience, knowledge, and judgment to perform increasingly complex tasks, including testing, troubleshooting, assembling, disassembling, cleaning, inspection, repair, overhaul, and modification of aerospace components and accessories using company-approved technical data.

This is an onsite position located in Monroe, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Schedule

1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM EDT

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a clean, professional work area; participate in daily cleaning activities.
• Utilize various computer systems to enter and retrieve information for daily activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors, Shop Engineers, Customer Service, Buyers, and Final Inspectors to resolve issues in accordance with FAA and company regulations.
• Interface with internal and external customers (e.g., government personnel or auditors) as needed.
• Complete assigned work in a quality and timely manner under direct to moderate supervision.
• Apply advanced troubleshooting knowledge and use measuring gauges and test equipment.
• Perform work to specifications using required tools and equipment in compliance with FAA and company regulations.
• Assist in the assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and disposition of components and accessories.
• Validate LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) fit, form, and function parameters using approved technical data.
• Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and validating LRU performance per approved technical data.
• Perform minor rework/repair of components and identify scrap components under supervision.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., G.E.D.) in the U.S.
• Vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• 1 or more years of electrical/mechanical repair or manufacturing experience.
• Experience with blueprint reading and utilizing repair manuals.
• Experience with troubleshooting and testing electrical/mechanical devices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to use computer systems (e.g., SAP, MS Office) for data input and retrieval.
• A&P License or FAA Repairman Certificate.
• Customer-focused mindset to deliver safe and high-quality products.
• Analytical skills to independently identify and solve problems.
• Experience using measuring gauges and test equipment.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $55,000 – $67,000 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with FAA guidelines. Candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA regulations (14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40).
