We are looking for a talented Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing at our Cummins Inc. facility in York, SC. This role is part of a formal skilled trades training program.
About the role
As an Apprentice, you will assist site Electrician skilled trades to learn and develop electrical skills in a manufacturing environment under direct guidance. You will be required to successfully complete and document specified classes and a minimum quantity of on-the-job training hours. You will learn and understand the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture by following HSE policies, using proper PPE, reporting hazards and incidents promptly, and encouraging teammates to work safely.
- Support reliable equipment performance by assisting with preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities that maximize equipment uptime and reduce operational disruptions.
- Contribute to product quality excellence by performing inspections, following process documentation, adhering to quality standards, and identifying issues before they impact production or customer satisfaction.
- Develop and apply electrical maintenance skills through required classroom training and hands-on experience, steadily building the competencies necessary to qualify as an Electrician.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by identifying production constraints, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting process improvements that enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Strengthen continuous improvement efforts by actively participating in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and providing valuable feedback to the Preventive Maintenance system.
- Reduce operational costs and quality risks by raising concerns early, supporting failure analysis investigations, and helping implement corrective actions that prevent recurring problems.
- Drive teamwork and operational success through effective communication with production, maintenance, and support teams while maintaining a clean, organized, and productive work environment.
- Use the eMaint System for all work orders.
- Continue learning troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Assist team members as needed.
Requirements

Qualifications
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- Minimal or no work experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Pay
Base rate: $24.40 - $31.54 per hour.
Schedule
This is an on-site role with flexibility, classified as a shop position.
