Electrical Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Shift Electrical Technicians at Georgia-Pacific's Darlington, SC plant are integral to our manufacturing operations. They are responsible for maintaining and repairing electronic and electrical systems used in high-volume manufacturing equipment such as plate forming presses, automated packaging machinery, industrial printing presses, and more.
Responsibilities
- Execute both planned and unplanned maintenance work on manufacturing assets like printing presses, plate presses, conveyors, robots, automated case packing/stacking equipment, etc.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and/or controls problems in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures and issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years electrical technical degree OR 5 or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
- Experience with executing maintenance plans, procuring parts, and documenting work activities
- Experience with single and 3-phase electrical repair and troubleshooting up to 480 volts
- Experience reviewing, developing, and/or modifying work orders for all plant equipment and entering work orders into a facility maintenance system
- Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLCs, AC and DC motor controllers and drives
Qualifications
- Associate or Technical degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, Electronic Technology or related
- At least 2 years of electrical/electronic and/or instrument & control troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, and/or Control Logix/RS Logix
- Experience with Allen Bradley PanelView and FactoryTalk
- Experience with servo systems
Skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics to troubleshoot electrical and electronics issues
