Electrical Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Description

The Electrical Maintenance Technician position at Smurfit Westrock in Winston-Salem, NC supports the operation of a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
• Applying knowledge of electrical/mechanical principles to determine equipment malfunctions and restore functionality across all areas of Manufacturing.
• Installing, starting up, and shutting down equipment in compliance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Informing appropriate management and line mechanics about potential electrical/mechanical problems and associated dangers.
• Maintaining company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance functions as directed.
• Assisting maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
• Performing other duties as required.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 3 years’ electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is required.
• Preference is given to candidates with military training and/or technical school experience, but it is not mandatory.
• Computer experience and proficiency with PLC programming are essential.
• Candidates must be available to work 1st shift.
• They must have the ability to maintain various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, and perform other duties as assigned.
• A strong commitment to working safely and demonstrating the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
• A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes, is required.
