Qualifications
- Promote and ensure safe work practices, engage team members for continuous improvement.
- Interface with and support operations, maintenance, and engineering.
- Lead safety initiatives and coach safe behaviors.
- Build employee engagement and development programs to enhance skill level and versatility.
- Understand and adhere to best-in-class maintenance practices.
- Own area backlog by planning and scheduling weekly as well as planned outage work.
- Own continuous improvement in planned outage efficiency and execution.
- Collaborate with operations, other maintenance supervision, and maintenance teams to implement planned work, emergency work, and preventative maintenance schedules as required.
- Interface with engineering, vendors, in-house crafts, and outside contractors to support maintenance projects.
- Provide technical manpower support to assist capital projects.
- Provide weekend coverage on a rotating basis; rotating weekends included.
Personal qualities
- Exceptional leadership, analytical abilities, and computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office).
- Experience creating and managing work orders, job plans, and maintenance schedules in SAP (or similar CMMS).
- Strong technical, problem-solving, decision-making ability.
- Self-starter capable of working effectively with minimal direct supervision.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of pulp and paper production processes.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and work in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive issues affecting daily operations.
- Knowledge of frequency drives, DC drives, and synchronous controls.
- Knowledge of power distribution systems / motor control centers.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and PLCs.
- 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience required.
- Advanced schooling in an electrical-related field preferred but not required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience.
