Summary Of Responsibilities

Develop solutions and implement projects that improve the process and focus on providing electrical and programming logic expertise.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting programming, electrical and process issues.
Develop and maintain equipment drive and motor strategies to reduce production downtime.
Collaborate with various teams to install new and rebuilt production electrical systems.
Must be able to create and modify programming logic systems and code to support and improve the process.
Conduct tests to confirm necessary programming and equipment changes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.E.) in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university, or equivalent experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of DC and AC drives troubleshooting and setup.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC and HMI setup and programming.
  • Working knowledge of tuning and calibration of PID loops and controls.
  • Working knowledge of power distribution equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-level organization which operates 24/7.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, computer skills and data analysis skills.
  • The travel requirement is less than 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of engineering experience installing and or servicing / troubleshooting DC Drive, AC Drives and PLCs.
  • Experience in the finishing portion of the steel manufacturing processes.
