Train the Next Generation of Lineworkers
Are you an experienced journeyman lineman looking to pass on your knowledge, skills, and dedication to safety? We are building a talent pool for future full-time Electrical Lineworker Instructor roles and invite you to be part of a team that is shaping tomorrow’s utility professionals.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned Electrical Lineworker courses, incorporating current OSHA/NESC standards
- Provide hands-on training in pole climbing, transitions, rigging, rescue, and field operations
- Instruct and certify students in CPR, First Aid, and bloodborne pathogen safety
- Mentor students on career pathways, apprenticeships, and certifications (e.g., NWSA)
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, academic performance, and practical skills
- Ensure that all tools, safety gear, and training equipment are up-to-date and functional
- Participate in course planning, curriculum review, and industry engagement
- Promote a classroom culture centered on safety, professionalism, and teamwork
- Support student success by participating in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with industry standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Electrical Journeyman Lineman certification and / or equivalent, titled experience
- Minimum 3 years of field experience in linework, power distribution, or telecom
- Ability to perform pole-top rescues, bucket work, and climbing demonstrations
- Working knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and other applicable safety codes
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record (CDL Class A or B preferred)
- Current or ability to obtain within 3–6 months: NCCER ICTP Certification (we’ll cover the cost); OSHA 10-hour Certification; CPR Certification
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Systems Technology or a related field
- Experience teaching or mentoring in educational or apprenticeship settings
- CampusNexus experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Schedule
Standard Full-Time Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay
Up to $55/hour, based on qualifications and industry experience

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Instruction delivered across classrooms, outdoor training yards, and labs
- Exposure to outdoor elements, including weather, noise, and vibration
- Ability to climb poles, lift up to 120 lbs, and demonstrate physical skills regularly
- Visual acuity and comfort working at height are essential
