Electrical Internship (16 months)

About the role

We are seeking an Intern, Electrical Draftsman to join our Electrical Design team. In this role you will be responsible to produce Electrical drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Electrical Designer. As part of our internship program you will be exposed to and trained in all aspects of the job ranging from Electrical Drafting to engineering design, project management and team management.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to Electrical Designer
• Drafting of electrical systems and components
• Coordinating with the engineering team and other design teams
• Transferring hand marked sketches of design drawings to AutoCAD
• Maintaining and improving visual and functional standards of CAD drawings and final product
• Performing load calculations using engineering software
• Using Microsoft Excel to assist in various engineering calculations
• Assisting electrical designers in various design duties
• Supporting the engineering team's analysis, evaluations, designs, and implementation

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Currently completing an Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma/degree or equivalent
• Basic proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; REVIT considered an asset
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision and in a team environment
• Attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
