Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering Co-op
About the Role
A successful candidate will provide engineering support for electrical, instrumentation, and control applications for all paper mill operations. The role offers exposure to process control systems, power distribution systems, and EI&C-related equipment, along with engineering experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
Responsibilities
- Assisting EI&C Department Engineers in assigned tasks
- Creating value-added changes in the Distributed Control System (DCS) and PLC programming
- Field data gathering, inventory management analysis, and documentation streamlining
- Maintaining/updating drawings and equipment files
- Supervising project-related items and equipment/parts installations
- Meeting with contractors, vendors, engineers, etc.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study from an accredited institution
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver and reinforce consistent messages at multiple levels
- Strong team player who can effectively work with others to meet objectives and timelines
- Must be willing to work in dirty, noisy, hot, humid environments
- Ability to work with plant personnel and engineering groups to ensure the proper execution of work
- Prioritization of time and work
- Use of self-initiative and independence to complete tasks with urgency and meet deadlines
Schedule
This co-op position is available for the Spring-Summer 2027 or Summer-Fall 2027 semester. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
