About the role
We are looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Mechanic to support our Advanced Material & Chemicals division in Rochester, NY.
Responsibilities
- Provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install and make improvements on film manufacturing equipment, complex processing equipment, chemical processing equipment, building general systems (includes instrumentation, pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC’s & distributed control systems (DCS), and a wide range of electrical components)
- Calibrate process control instruments tight tolerances using sophisticated calibration equipment
- Achieve a high level of expertise to effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment, including root cause analysis
- Maintain motors, breakers, starters, variable speed drives, process controls devices, heat tracing, lighting, etc.
- Install conduit, wiring, switches, relays, lighting, circuit breakers using power tools and hand tools
- Install upgrades to enhance or replace outdated control systems
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Data entry and report writing including ISO documentation
- Work effectively with minimal supervision
- Place safety and environment as top priority in all work
Requirements

- Strong electrical and/or instrumentation training and demonstrated skills/experience
- Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
- Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings
- Able to read/modify PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Understand new electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent safety record
- Effective communication skills – daily communications with leaders, maintenance planner, technical staff, engineering and operations as needed
- Significant walking or other means of mobility
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to work off of ladders or scaffolding, in some awkward positions
- Indoor and outdoor work assignments
- Wear protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations
Qualifications
- HS diploma, and a 2-year degree or some level of instrumentation, electrical or demonstrated trade experience

$32.00 - $45.00 Experience Level: 5-10 Years
