Functional Responsibilities
- Safely maintain all plant instrumentation and electrical equipment, such as: PLC’s, electrical control systems, instrumentation transmitters (flow, pressure, temperature, level, pH), automated valves, sensors, motor starters, electrical motors, AC/DC variable frequency drives, motor control centers, power supplies, distribution panels, lighting, Control Logix, etc.
- Install electrical raceways (cable tray, rigid conduit) in accordance with National Electric Code.
- Aid in the implementation and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and instruments / equipment as required.
- Read and interpret P&ID drawings, manuals, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Support day to day operations with maintenance support on production instruments / equipment.
- Interact with Production Technicians to understand issues and concerns with production and address them appropriately.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, dismantle, rebuild defective instruments / equipment and install new or repaired equipment or parts.
- Work with voltages up to 480V and under guidance of NFPA 70E.
- Use computer programs: SAP, MS Word, company E-Mail, online training platforms.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Knowledge of basic electricity, PLC, and instrumentation functionality, electrical safety, and National Electric Code.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings, use test equipment, and hand tools.
- 4 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Troubleshooting skills; ability to think and act quickly and in a safe manner.
- Sit/stand/walk up to 8 or 12 hours per day, walk up and down stairs, kneel, crouch, crawl, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires vision (natural or corrected) that meets the standards set by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, due to safety-related responsibilities.
- A high degree of work schedule flexibility.
