Electrical Inspector Part Time

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for overseeing the building department's operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, and providing technical guidance to applicants.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve construction plans according to local, state, and federal building codes
• Inspect buildings during construction phases to ensure adherence to approved plans and codes
• Provide technical guidance to applicants on building code requirements and best practices
• Enforce building codes and regulations through inspections and investigations
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building code violations
• Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies
• Stay updated on changes to building codes and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually
