Electrical Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for overseeing building codes and regulations, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation and enforcement of building codes and regulations
• Conduct routine and special inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards
• Review and approve plans and permits for construction projects
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers on building codes and safety standards
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building code compliance
• Participate in public meetings and provide input on zoning and land use issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with building permit processing and plan review
• Knowledge of construction materials and techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually
