Electrical Hardware Development Engineer , Bespoke Solutions
Join AWS as an Electrical Hardware Development Engineer to support the development of next-generation cloud infrastructure hardware. Drive innovation in complex designs working with world-class engineers in our dedicated product development lab in Arlington, VA.
This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion, occupy 4 million square feet of energy-efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Responsibilities
- Participate in system-level hardware architecture decisions and technical requirements
- Support new product introduction (NPI) processes with Senior Hardware Engineers
- Partner with FPGA/firmware teams to define system interfaces and requirements
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware, software, and FPGA engineers in our dedicated product development lab
- Support innovative solutions, participate in design reviews, troubleshoot prototypes, and provide technical support to team members

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup, and circuit board layout
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
- 3+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- US Government Security clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Pay
Base salary range: $109,700 - $160,000 USD annually (locations: MD, Jessup; VA, Arlington; VA, Herndon).
