About the role

The General Superintendent oversees all field activities, manages construction projects, and ensures compliance with project plans, budgets, and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor work of superintendents to ensure adherence to construction documents, budget, and schedule.
  • Utilize Short Interval Construction schedule to control job costs.
  • Establish relationships with general contractors.
  • Provide technical assistance and develop project procedures.
  • Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Attend job scheduling and coordination meetings.
  • Document job progress and violations.
  • Support superintendents with information and establish action plans.
  • Track materials and determine action plans for critical items.
  • Maintain job site housekeeping.
  • Monitor discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost.
  • Apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes.
  • Aid in electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ensure installations meet quality and electrical code standards.
  • Resolve issues related to work procedures, complaints, damages, accidents, and delays.
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent and technical personnel.
  • Enforce company safety measures and regulations.
  • Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews.
  • Review and process contracts for construction.
  • Participate in project turnover, startup, and percent complete meetings.
  • Prepare project closeout packages and turnovers with the general contractor.
  • Attend Tri-City close-out meetings.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience.
  • Active Florida Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Active Florida Driver's license in good standing.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Codes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong safety background.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a 12th-grade level.
  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • Requires reporting to job sites throughout Florida.
  • May require overtime, nights, and weekends.
