About the Role

This is a field-based, hands-on position supporting the electrical scope of solar field construction. The role requires independent performance of various electrical and construction tasks, as well as the ability to train others on underground electrical work.

Responsibilities

  • DC Trench and DC Feeder Install
  • MV Trench and MV Cable Install
  • CAB Transition Conduit and MV Conduit Install
  • Fiber Install
  • Inverter DC Termination
  • Transformer/Sectionalizer MV Termination
  • DC Splice and MV Splice
  • MV Riser Termination
  • SCADA Equipment Install
  • CAB Install
  • Combiner Box Install and Termination
  • DC Wire Install
  • Module Installation
  • Wire Management and Labeling
  • Fiber Termination
  • LOTO Switching/Energization
  • String Current Checks
  • Megger Testing, PD Testing, VLF Testing, VOC Testing, IV Curve Testing, and IR Scanning
  • Survey/As-Built Documentation
  • Train others on all aspects of Underground electrical work
  • Provide timely documentation of field decisions and reporting (e.g., Tier Boards and Production Tracking)

Requirements

  • Able to lift 50+ pound materials and maneuver them into place
  • Able to conduct repetitive actions such as stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to follow precise instructions and receive feedback
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work well with others, including colleagues and supervisors
  • Experience working on solar construction projects preferred
  • Must model behavior in safety, quality of work, attendance, punctuality, productivity, and teamwork
  • Actively embodies Signal’s Core Principles and the One Team Approach, including planning, communication, collaboration, and dispute resolution
  • Must work outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
  • May be exposed to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards

Qualifications

GED or equivalent education.
