Electrical Foreman
About the role
This role leads electrical and controls activities on engineering-intensive projects, with a strong focus on data centers and advanced systems. The Electrical Foreman / Electrical Commissioning Lead oversees construction, commissioning, and controls engineering, ensuring that complex electrical and automation systems are installed, tested, and integrated to a high standard. The position combines hands-on field leadership with technical expertise in telecom, networking, and building automation controls.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical construction activities on engineering-heavy projects, ensuring work meets project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
- Serve as the controls foreman for data center and advanced systems projects, coordinating installation and integration of electrical and control systems.
- Act as the electrical commissioning lead, planning, executing, and documenting commissioning activities for electrical and controls systems.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation to guide installation, wiring, and configuration of equipment.
- Oversee data center construction tasks related to electrical power, controls, and building automation systems.
- Cook up and support IP-based communication for modern equipment, including configuring networks, servers, and related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, technicians, and other trades to integrate electrical, controls, and telecom systems into a cohesive solution.
- Verify system performance through testing, commissioning, and validation activities, and resolve issues identified during these processes.
- Maintain accurate records of installation, configuration, and commissioning activities for project documentation and turnover.
- Promote safe work practices on site and ensure that all electrical and controls work follows relevant safety guidelines and procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as an electrical foreman leading electrical construction activities.
- Demonstrated background as a controls foreman on engineering-heavy projects.
- Hands-on experience as an electrical commissioning lead for complex electrical and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for electrical and controls installations.
- Strong understanding of data center construction, including power distribution, controls, and advanced systems.
- Practical experience with controls engineering and building automation controls.
- Telecom and network skills, including the ability to navigate computers and work with IP-based equipment.
- Ability to set up networks and servers to support modern equipment and control systems.
- Network troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve connectivity and communication issues.
- Comfort working on engineering-intensive projects that involve advanced electrical and control technologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with advanced systems used in data centers and high-technology facilities.
- Familiarity with modern IP communication protocols used in building automation and controls.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and construction teams across disciplines.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills for commissioning and project records.
Work Environment
This role operates primarily on engineering-heavy project sites, including data centers and facilities with advanced systems. You work closely with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams in a field-based environment that involves electrical construction, controls engineering, and building automation controls. The position requires frequent interaction with modern IP-based equipment, computers, networks, and servers, as well as hands-on work with electrical and control systems during installation and commissioning. Hours and shifts may vary based on project schedules and commissioning timelines, and the work environment emphasizes safety, technical precision, and collaboration.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
