About the Role

An Electrical Foreman 2 is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders, including assigning tasks, ensuring the work is installed in a high-quality manner, and performing quality inspections. Monitors task completion, compliance, and prevents safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Productivity Planning: Plan for assigned scope of work.
• Material Phasing: Organize material by specific areas/floors and keep track of material inventories.
• Tools & Equipment: Identify all tools and equipment required to support each crew (gang box assignments, tool inspection, and track tools via sign-in/out sheets).
• Information Packages: Ensure each crew activity has information packages (contract drawings, shop drawings, panel schedules, cut sheets, etc.).
• Break Management: Keep control of breaks (track loss time from personal breaks, smoking, or conversation).
• Daily Reporting: Submit daily hour/unit reports for crews using the established form (Standard Time Sheet).
• Quality Control: Perform quality control inspections of work completed, following the established QC plan and checklists. Ensure installation meets professional and high-quality standards.
• As-Built Drawings: Maintain accurate as-built drawings, updating and logging them onto master record contract drawings at least once a week.
• Tool & Equipment Inventory: Conduct daily inventory of all tools and equipment at the end of the day. Ensure accountability and security; submit inventory/inspection sheets every Monday.
• Lost/Stolen/Damaged Tools: Report lost, stolen, or damaged tools.
• Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs): Review, ensure crew members sign, and store all AHAs related to the foreman’s scope of work at their gang box in the field.
• Support Equipment Inspection: Submit daily equipment inspection sheets for all assigned equipment once a week.
• Accident/Incident Reporting: Follow established procedures for responding to and reporting accidents and incidents. Submit all reports within 24 hours.
• Clean-Up: Ensure the foreman and crew leader are responsible for all clean-up related to their scope of work. Leave all work areas in a broom-swept condition at the end of the day.
• Quality of Work Completed:
  • Ensure installation meets/exceeds codes, contractual obligations, best practices, and other requirements as mandated by the Corporate Quality Policy.
  • Ensure all facets of the Project Quality Plan are reviewed and implemented. Document and communicate any deviations to the site QC representative for approval before proceeding.
  • Participate and assist the Site QC representative in implementing 3-Phase Quality Control (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up) for each Definable Feature of Work (DFOW) under the crew leader’s responsibility.
  • Properly document and return CQC checklists to the Site QC representative to ensure timely installation inspections and adherence to the QAQC schedule.
  • Initiate Various Discrepancy Notices (EDN, DDN, PDN, FDN, ADN, PITDN, CDN) to document and communicate issues arising during construction for resolution.
  • Review and provide feedback on weekly installation quality scorecards generated by the QAQC service center to address systemic issues through formal root cause, corrective, and preventive action.
  • Review ongoing quality issues identified in the daily QC report with the crew to ensure mitigation/elimination of nonconformities.
  • Ensure nonconformity tags identified on discrepant installations by the site QC representative are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Participate in QAQC Design Review of Engineering and Coordination drawings to identify constructability issues.
  • Participate in and provide feedback on the Quality portion of the daily ORM work briefing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in the electrical industry with a High School diploma or GED.
• 6+ years of experience with an Associate degree.
• Journeyman Electrical License required or must obtain within 6 months of hire.

Abilities

• Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Follow proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
• Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
• Work at various heights up to 60 feet, including climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
• Perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Possess good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
• Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
• Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong (does not involve solving the problem).
• Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
• Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
• See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
