Responsibilities
- Performing assignments that require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria’s to carry out engineering tasks.
- Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Exercising judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids.
- Assisting with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
- Assisting with construction administration and documentation of deficiencies and deviations from plans.
- Researching and compiling project information for reporting, marketing, and funding requests.
- Creating and maintaining centralized files for project records (including digital).
- Coinciding logistics and meetings for project managers.
- Attending and taking minutes for the development team as requested.
- Helping in the preparation of reports, including monthly development reports.
- Assisting with community outreach duties as needed.
- Attending neighborhood, community, and project meetings.
- Undertaking tasks as may be assigned by project managers.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field with the intent to continue enrollment after an internship.
- Must have completed at least 1 year of study.
Additional Information
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position does not include sponsorship for United States Work Authorization. The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00 per hour depending on experience and/or education. A Housing Stipend is available to those who qualify.
