Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Engineer / QA-QC professional to provide onsite construction support for a large, complex mission-critical facility. This position will work directly with electrical contractors and the engineering/design team to verify construction quality, interpret design requirements, resolve field issues, and support timely project execution. This is a field-focused construction position rather than a traditional office-based design engineering role. Medium-voltage electrical experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite electrical construction and QA/QC support.
  • Review electrical installations against drawings, specifications, one-lines, and design intent.
  • Inspect and evaluate medium-voltage distribution systems and associated equipment.
  • Support installation, testing, energization, startup, and turnover activities.
  • Identify installation deficiencies, field conflicts, and construction issues requiring corrective action.
  • Work directly with electrical contractors to investigate and resolve field conditions.
  • Review electrical construction drawings, one-line diagrams, equipment documentation, and specifications.
  • Support field activities involving switchgear, transformers, distribution equipment, and related systems.
  • Document field observations, quality concerns, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
  • Resolve appropriate field issues independently while quickly escalating design-related questions to the Engineer of Record/design team.
  • Coordinate electrical work with mechanical, controls, and other project disciplines.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant electrical construction, engineering, commissioning, or QA/QC experience.
  • Hands-on medium-voltage electrical experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of medium-voltage distribution, transformers, switchgear, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Experience with electrical installation, testing, energization, startup, and/or commissioning.
  • Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, construction drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation.
  • Significant onsite construction and contractor coordination experience.
  • Strong QA/QC mindset and ability to recognize installation or construction deficiencies.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions within assigned authority.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Data center or power-generation experience strongly preferred; comparable large-infrastructure experience will be considered.
  • Engineering degree preferred but not required with significant relevant field experience.
