Electrical Field Engineer

About the role

Mangan Renewable’s Field Engineers are responsible for the routine inspection, management, troubleshooting, repair and upgrade of client solar facilities. The primary responsibility is to adhere to company safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate autonomously and manage schedules to service client requests.
• Manage document requests, control, material requisitioning, inventory control, scheduling, work planning, and troubleshooting AC and DC systems.
• Affirm that third-party electrical contractors’ work complies with codes and is of the highest quality.
• Prepare change orders or cost estimates for additional site work or repairs.
• Report to the Mangan Renewables Director and interface with the Construction Manager during system construction or decommissioning.
• Work hours may vary based on service call locations and travel times, typically 40 hours per week.
• A company-owned service vehicle is provided.

Requirements

• Experience working on systems up to 1000VAC.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding engineered drawings and engineering standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with client representatives on-site.
• High proficiency in troubleshooting both AC and DC systems.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (MS Access, Excel, Word).
• Willingness to travel and respond to short notice requests for maintenance support.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Effective written communication skills to prepare site assessment reports.
• Ability to climb and work at heights.

Value Added Skills or Training

• Construction field experience.
• Hands-on experience with electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or piping.
• Surveying experience.
• Management experience or training.
• Knowledge of web-authoring tools (HTML, XML, JAVA).
• Programmable Logic Controller hardware or software training.
• Experience with computer or communications networks.
