Electrical Estimator
We are seeking a detail-oriented and computer-savvy Electrical Estimator to assist with preparing project estimates, proposals, and bid documentation at our Pflugerville, TX location. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational and analytical skills who is interested in developing a career in electrical estimating. Previous electrical estimating experience is not required; we are willing to train the right candidate on the electrical knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing electrical estimates, proposals, quotes, and bid packages.
- Review project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and related documentation.
- Perform basic material and labor takeoffs under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Enter and maintain accurate project, pricing, and estimating information in company systems.
- Request and organize pricing information from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Review proposals and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Track bid deadlines, proposal updates, project changes, and follow-up items.
- Maintain organized electronic files, estimating records, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Assist with updating pricing, templates, reports, and estimating databases.
- Support process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn estimating and project management software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to review detailed documents and identify missing or inconsistent information.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Professional, dependable, and eager to learn the electrical estimating process.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including a background check and motor vehicle record check, when applicable.
- English speaking, reading, and writing skills required where necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience related to estimator responsibilities preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
Physical Requirements
- Hand movements, including typing and equipment operation.
- Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
- Work in a typical office environment, sitting at a desk and performing prolonged computer work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
- Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
- Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.
