Electrical Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuitry and other systems used in finished equipment.
• Demonstrate working understanding of electronic and electromechanical systems. Troubleshoot PCBA’s and perform rework such as replacement of components (surface mount, connectors, IC’s) etc.
• Demonstrate working understanding of a variety of laboratory test equipment.
• Assemble prototype devices and systems.
• Fabricate electronic and electromechanical test fixtures and build cable assemblies.
• Set up and execute pre-defined subsystem/system qualification protocols with moderate supervision.
• Set up data equipment to capture test data and produce documentation for test reports & test methods.
• Perform basic statistical analysis of results. Investigate, analyze, repair, and document component or system level failures.
• Expands skills and techniques in one skill area / process / method. Maintain appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed.
• Apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks within own area. Work within established SOPs and / or scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines.
• Manage the lab, keep inventory records, organize equipment and parts for smooth operations in the lab, and document configuration control of PCBA’s, components and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Skilled in own work area within an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production).
• Works with a moderate degree of supervision.
