STV’s Los Angeles, CA office is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist for our Buildings Division in a hybrid setting.
About the role
We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities, municipal buildings such as public work facilities, and light commercial. Other potential projects include maintenance facilities and solar/distributed energy resource projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist the electrical lead in the planning, design, and post-design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base.
- Develop proposal and budget estimates.
- Mentor junior electrical engineers assigned to projects.
- Support design in Revit and AutoCAD for assigned projects.
- Assist other electrical staff on their projects as required.
- Develop design documents, specifications, and reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university.
- 7+ years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer.
- Strong knowledge of codes such as NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, and Energy Code (Title 24).
- E.I.T. Certification; P.E. license preferred but not required (must have aspirations to obtain P.E. license in the near future).
- Skills with Revit, AutoCAD, energy, and load calculation software are a plus.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptable, agile, and responsive to quick changes in direction.
- Ability to establish rapport and credibility with clients and other stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, and ability to work well in a team.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines efficiently.
Pay
Compensation range: $91,976.90 – $105,116.46.
