About the role
Michael Baker International is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Associate to join our office in Houston, TX. The role involves providing electrical and lighting design services on a variety of projects and clients.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation of designs, design calculations, and construction drawings for buildings.
- Collaborate with engineers to analyze and design power and lighting needs for various building types.
- Utilize design software to apply engineering fundamentals in construction plan set preparation.
- Conduct site surveys to verify existing conditions.
- Assist other departments within the office as needed.
Requirements
- Accredited Electrical Engineering degree or similar, with a focus on electrical power and lighting.
- 0-2 years of related experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred.
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
- Experience with engineering software including BlueBeam, SKM, Visual Lighting, AGi32, or Revit equivalent lighting software is not required but ideal.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of construction documents and constructability.

Pay
The approximate compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
