Electrical Engineering Associate

About the role

Michael Baker International is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Associate to join our office in Houston, TX. The role involves providing electrical and lighting design services on a variety of projects and clients.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the preparation of designs, design calculations, and construction drawings for buildings.
• Collaborate with engineers to analyze and design power and lighting needs for various building types.
• Utilize design software to apply engineering fundamentals in construction plan set preparation.
• Conduct site surveys to verify existing conditions.
• Assist other departments within the office as needed.

Requirements

• Accredited Electrical Engineering degree or similar, with a focus on electrical power and lighting.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred.
• Familiarity with the National Electric Code.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
• Experience with engineering software including BlueBeam, SKM, Visual Lighting, AGi32, or Revit equivalent lighting software is not required but ideal.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

• Basic knowledge of construction documents and constructability.

Pay

The approximate compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
