About the role

Aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) engineering and technical support is required to enhance aircraft reliability and safety of flight. The role involves performing electrical engineering design and analysis, reviewing engineering drawings, and implementing corrective design changes.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Engineering Service Requests (ESR).
  • Review engineering drawings and technical data for compliance with USCG and OGA.
  • Ensure aviation systems meet safety, reliability, and maintainability standards.
  • Provide electrical engineering support for wiring harness design, installation, modification, and testing.
  • Compute aircraft electrical load analysis for system modifications and new equipment installation.
  • Investigate and correct failures in aircraft wiring, electrical, and corrosion issues.
  • Research, prototype, and promote new EWIS products for potential USCG applicability.
  • Identify electrical testing parameters for USCG assets.
  • Support Product Line wiring requirements and work with ACATS personnel.
  • Develop and implement new EWIS products and tools to improve aircraft reliability.
  • Attend and present at meetings related to assigned tasks.
  • Travel as required for tasking.
  • Provide wiring presentations to inform USCG personnel.

Requirements

  • Skilled in using standard and specialized electrical and electronic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of NA VAIR 01-1A-505, NA VAIR 01-IA509-3, and SAE AS50881.
  • Experience in aircraft electrical load and power source capacity analysis.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aviation electrical engineering.

Pay

  • $145,438 per year

Schedule

  • Travel within CONUS, Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico as required.
  • Secret clearance required.
