Electrical Engineer– Solar

Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical installation activities for solar PV projects.
  • Execute HT/LT electrical works, including cable laying, termination, and testing.
  • Coordinate the installation of solar modules, string inverters, central inverters, transformers, RMUs, HT/LT panels, SCBs, DCDBs, ACDBs, and switchgear.
  • Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, and BOQs before execution.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, QA/QC, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor daily site progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Verify material availability and coordinate with the store and procurement teams.
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with project specifications, IEC, IS, CEA, and client standards.
  • Supervise cable tray installation, earthing systems, lightning protection systems, and cable routing.
  • Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and grid synchronization activities.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements and company safety procedures.
  • Attend project review meetings and provide technical updates to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in solar EPC, renewable energy, or electrical infrastructure projects.

Skills

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of utility-scale and rooftop solar PV systems.
  • Understanding of HT/LT electrical systems and switchgear.
  • Familiarity with transformers, RMUs, inverters, protection systems, and SCADA.
  • Ability to read and interpret SLDs, electrical layouts, and schematic drawings.
  • Knowledge of IEC, IS, CEA, and electrical safety standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project documentation.
