About the role
Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Jacksonville, FL office.
Responsibilities
- Completes multiple or complex electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates
- Develops strategic market plan to grow local electrical engineering design client base
- Leads projects involving multiple or complex design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to:
- Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
- Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
- Lighting systems
- Lightning protection systems
- Grounding systems
- Communications systems
- Electrical calculations, selective coordination and arc flash studies
- Prepares detailed large contract documents, studies and cost estimates
- Submittal reviews and construction observations for electrical work on projects
- Affixes to assist in companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes
- Affixes to assist in NAVFAC and other DOD projects company wide
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
- Professional Engineer license; required
- 10 to 15 years of experience in:
- Power distribution projects; required
- Infrastructure engineering industry; preferred
- Proficient in MS Office including spreadsheets for cable lists and calculations
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to complete complex technical assignments and prepare and analyze technical reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point; required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, either ETAP or EasyPower, and AGI32; preferred
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC); preferred
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Availability and willingness to travel
- Possess DBIDS card or eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients; required
