About the role
An established engineering and project services organization is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing team supporting large-scale industrial and power infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who has built a solid technical foundation and is looking to take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables
- Prepare single-line diagrams, cable schedules, electrical layouts, and installation details
- Perform electrical system analysis including load calculations, voltage drop calculations, conduit sizing, and equipment selection
- Support project estimates, material take-offs, and engineering studies
- Review vendor drawings, equipment packages, and construction documents
- Coverage with designers, engineers, and project teams across multiple disciplines
- Participate in field visits, site assessments, startup support, and construction activities
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers as experience grows
- Support projects through FEL, basic engineering, detailed design, and execution phases
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Approximately 7-15 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial environments
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience supporting power generation, utilities, industrial manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, midstream, downstream, or related facilities
- Experience with electrical distribution systems, motor control centers, switchgear, substations, and instrumentation systems
- Experience working with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
- Experience with medium-voltage power systems
- Familiarity with PLC, HMI, DCS, or industrial control systems
- Instrumentation and controls experience
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Experience working with geographically dispersed or international engineering teams
