Duties/Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to support the development of IPE products-including generators, trailers, and light towers-as well as enhance existing products and integrate new accessories using electrical engineering and control systems expertise.
- Contribute to a variety of activities beyond electrical work, such as prototyping, supplier discussions, product testing, and investigating market-related defects.
- Partner effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders (including Yamabiko Japan), fulfilling assigned tasks while providing consistent updates, reports, and technical consultations to supervisors.
- Deliver technical support to both sales and service teams.
- Strengthen technical and operational capabilities through hands-on training with experienced staff, participation in formal training programs, and training opportunities in Japan.
- Be able to travel for business needs (up to 20%), including international travel.
Job Experience/Skills
- 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and validation of electrical systems for engine-driven equipment, including generators, welders, and light towers, with expertise in power generation, distribution, and control system integration.
- 5+ years of project management experience within an engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of power generation systems with preferred background working on generators, light towers, engines, or other industrial equipment and machines.
- Experience with manufacturing, engineering, and fabrication techniques such as wiring harness design, panel design, electrical schematic creation, electrical system prototyping, and system communication implementation (CAN bus, A to D).
- Experience working with vendors to source and verify modules and components.
- A Strong understanding of drawing creation; proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD for modeling and drafting is a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards is a plus (UL, J1939).
- Interest or experience in both electrical and mechanical work are preferred.
- Basic hands-on fabrication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required, along with more than 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Pay
The salary range for this position starts at $115,000 based on years of experience and qualifications.
