Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and test highly efficient DC-DC power converters for harsh environments that require no fans or active cooling components.
- Work on electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and develop requirements that are synergistic with the rest of the system.
- Define and perform electrical power system verification testing and analysis, and write test procedures for the production technicians.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams of design, test, and production engineers to create new state-of-the-art power electronics hardware.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or other STEM discipline.
- 1+ years of professional experience in power converter development (internship experience is applicable).
- Experience in simulation and lab testing of power electronics.
- Hands-on experience with debugging, testing, and validating electrical systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and similar tools.
Preferred Skills or Experience
- A strong grasp of DC-DC topologies, with the ability to select optimal architectures and components.
- Experience with AC-DC converters.
- Familiarity with solar arrays as input power sources.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery handling, safety, and usage.
